SUMMER CAMP ACTING INSTRUCTOR

Job Type: Part-time / Temporary / 15 hrs week

Days: Monday - Friday
Time: 9am to 12pm or 1 to 4pm
Salary: $30 per hour
Camp will run from June 5, 2023 to August 11, 2023 -
There will be no camp July 3-7
We are seeking an acting instructor. Experience in commercials or film is a plus, but not required. Applicant must have a firm grasp of stage acting and be able to teach Creativity, Technique, and Professionalism in Acting. Singing is not a requirement.
We are seeking a professional who possesses, understands, and embraces ”commitment, excellent communication, and good character”.
You may use our curriculum or build your own.
• Applicant must be available to work the full camp season.
• Applicant must be available to work Mon - Friday between 9am and 4pm
• Applicant must be available at least 3 hours per day.
• Actual schedule to be determined with instructor input.
• Must love working with children and have an upbeat personality and good sense of humor.
• Additional opportunities come with additional skills/qualifications (ie. photography, dance, voice overs, etc.)
• Our main student base consists of 8 to 14-year-olds..

SUMMER CAMP INSTRUCTOR/ACTIVITIES LEADER

Time: 9am to 6pm
Salary: $15 per hour
We are seeking a camp counselor who specializes in at least one form of visual or performing art (music, dance, art, acting). Under general direction, plan and instruct classes in your specialty area. Will assist instructors where and when needed.
Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and performing recreational activities involving the creation and implementation of activities in any area of as dance, sport, music, games, or nature to keep campers engaged during various intervals between before or after classes during the day.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
• This is a temporary position. Camp will run from June 5, 2023 to August 11, 2023 - (9 weeks)
• There will be no camp July 3-7
• Applicant must be available to work the full camp season.
• Must love working with children and have an upbeat personality and good sense of humor.
• Working conditions are in both indoor and outdoor recreation facilities.
Qualifications
• Punctual , Excellent Communicator, Energetic , Team Player, Flexible
• Applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience to meet the minimum education requirements of the job
• Applicant selected for employment must submit to a criminal background check
• Knowledge of CPR is a plus
• Knowledge of various principles and techniques of their music/arts specialty and recreational programs
• Ability to originate ideas and concepts and translate them into visual imagery
• Ability to effectively develop programs through evaluation of their students
• Must have reliable transportation

DRUM TEACHER

Job Type: Part-time
Hours begin at 1 per week for a group of students
Minimum Experience: Experienced
Days: Monday - Friday
Time: 9am to 12pm or 1 to 4pm
Salary: $20 per hour plus commission based on # of students
The drum teacher will teach group and private students ranging from ages 5 through senior adults.
We seek a mature individual who can teach and build the drum program, including private lessons, music classes, and ensembles. The ideal candidate is a retired person, a former working musician, or someone who is just looking to fill some time and make some extra income.
• Applicant must be available between 4:30 pm and 8 pm, 1 day during wk
and/OR Available Saturdays between 11 am - 4 pm
• Hours will increase as classes are established and program builds
• Able to teach the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document lesson plans. We can help with this
• Energetic, with the ability to have fun while teaching
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students
• Pitch in the overall execution of the program
• Participate in recitals and concerts
• Flexible schedule. Instructor can determine schedule based on room availability
• Teach camps at minimum one day per week and Spring and Summer camp season
Candidate Requirements:
• 1 year experience teaching and/or performing music (drums) professionally preferred
• Applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience to meet the minimum education requirements of the job
• The ability to teach multiple instruments is a bonus but is NOT required
• Must reside in San Antonio and commute no further than 30 minutes from our location.
• Must have a vehicle or have reliable transportation
