DESCRIPTION:
Students will have a blast as they explore fun and innovative ways to complete a short. Students will learn acting for film, auditioning for film, script reading, rehearsals, and table reading. Students will also learn the production side of filmmaking, including shooting, lighting, and directing. Additionally, every student will receive a link to their film, that can be shared with family and friends.
Beginners are welcome! No previous experience required.

This musical review camp allows students to perform some of their favorite musical songs. Young actors will gain confidence as well as learn basic musical theater terminology as we walk them through the entire production process, from auditioning and rehearsing to performing! The final day of camp will be a showcase for parents/families to enjoy (exact time TBD).
Beginners are welcome! No previous experience required.

DESCRIPTION: Children ages 6 to 12 with zero experience in the creative and performing arts can enjoy a summer of fun and enriching exploration of activities. Campers will dip their toes into the waters of creativity as they explore the spectrum of music, art and drama over the summer weeks. There will be a variety of games, challenges diverse topics, mediums and themes including music, art, lyric writing, poetry, drama and more! We'll enjoy a few outdoor activities as well.

DESCRIPTION: A week of fun with Ukuleles! Campers will learn to hold the ukulele, tune it, work on finger dexterity to press the strings firmly against the fingerboard, chords, and play simple songs along with different strumming techniques. Your little musicians will have a blast putting together and decorating a ukulele, and participate in rhythm and music games and activities! The Ukulele is theirs to keep and play wherever they go!

DESCRIPTION: This week long camp combines the love of writing with the love of music. Whether your love is for pop, rock, gospel, rap, or country, this course offers students the chance to engage with one another in a way that is affirming, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. Students will be introduced to the processes of songwriting and gain an understanding of form, melody, harmony, rhythm and writing lyrics to music during this inspirational collaborative week. Some music experience is helpful.

DESCRIPTION: Curious about piano? This is a perfect opportunity to get a sneak peak at our recurring weekly group piano classes without the month long commitment. Learn the basics in this beginner intro class while working individually and together to complete activities and play theory games.

Introduction and basics of violin. (For those who want to try and see if they like it) Beginner Class

Session 2. Violin Orchestra:
Students are seated non-competitively to eliminate the pressure of “ranking”. Seating is rotated for each movement, so each player has a chance to take on leading and supporting roles. (requires 1 year of experience) Focus on learning to play with others in an Orchestra environment and setting.
10 am to 10:50 am
Session 3. Violin Technique Workshop: Learn tips to improve technical aspects of your playing including posture, bow hold, bow distribution, intonation, vibrato, shifting, tone and more. (1 year experience) Also in an Orchestra setting so all string instruments are welcomed.
REQUIRED: Rent or purchased violin, shoulder rest, music stand, rosin, soft cloth and book. Additional information will be emailed upon registration.
5 students are required to start each class. A deposit of $25 each session is required at registration. Deposit is Non Refundable except in case of low enrollment.

Through the Eyes of the Art Masters

DESCRIPTION: Campers get creative as we focus on drawing skills and introduce different media such as pastel, watercolor, markers and colored pencils. We'll explore the theme of the day through the eyes of the Masters as we touch on a little of everything including abstract, realism and expressionism! This a no pressure, creative environment.

Cartoons & Fantasy Art

LUNCH: We offer hourly supervised (Bring Your Own) lunch, beverage and snack as a $25 weekly add on, depending on which camp you choose.
All campers should bring a refillable water bottle whether or not staying for lunch. 12pm to 1pm supervised BYO lunch serves as early drop off for classes 9am to 12pm Day classes taking afternoon 1pm to 4pm classes, or 1pm to 4pm students who need to arrive early only)
DROP OFF: Standard drop off takes place in the main building and starts 10 minutes prior to class start times.

PICK UP: Pick up should take place promptly at the end of the scheduled class. We do not have staff available to supervise children outside of the classroom. All late pickups will be charged $1 per minute due at pickup.
ATTIRE: Please, NO open toed shoes. Some events may be held outdoors weather permitting. Please dress your child appropriately.
CLASS CANCELLATION: BlackBox reserves the right to cancel any class in the event the class has low registration. Should there be a lack of interest in the class, we will notify you and you may move to a different class or request a full refund.

• Sibling Discount*: The first child pays full tuition. Each child enrolled after the first will receive a 10% discount in the same class.

• Multiple class discounts: There are no multiple class discounts offered.
REFUND POLICY
Your registration and tuition reserve your child’s place in a camp session and allow BlackBox Music & Arts to purchase supplies and contract staff. All camp tuition is non-refundable. Yes, classes may be transferred or gifted to other family or friends with the completion of a new registration form by the new student's guardian. Please contact administration 210-748-5599.
