BlackBox Music & Arts is a family-friendly studio in San Antonio offering music lessons, art classes, and performing arts programs for kids, teens, and adults. Our mission is to make creativity accessible and fun for all ages through personalized instruction and hands-on experiences.
What types of classes do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of creative programs, including:
Music Lessons – piano, guitar, saxophone, drums, ukulele, and more
Voice Lessons – vocal technique, performance, and confidence-building for singers of all levels, choirs, groups and individuals
Art Classes – painting, ceramics, drawing, and crafts
Performing Arts – acting, musical theater, and stage performance workshops

What age groups do you teach?
We welcome students ages 5 through adult. Programs are customized for each age group to ensure fun, skill-building experiences for everyone.

How do I register for classes?
You can register online through our Enrollment site, call us directly, or stop by the studio. Our friendly team can help match you with the right class or instructor for your goals.
Do you offer trial or drop in classes?
Yes! We regularly offer trial lessons for families who want to experience the studio before committing to a full program.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance can be rescheduled.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class result in a forfeited lesson.
If BlackBox staff cancels a session, a make-up lesson or credit will always be offered.
Can I pause lessons?
Yes! You may pause your lessons at any time without any additional registration fee, as long as you resume within a 12-month period. After 12 months, a new registration fee will apply.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to hold lesson times while your enrollment is paused. But don’t worry! When you return, we’ll always do our best to get you back with your preferred instructor or a time that works for your schedule.
Can parents stay during lessons?
Yes! Parents are welcome to stay and observe their child’s lesson or relax in our comfortable waiting area or enjoy the quiet outdoors on our 3 acre property.
Do you host birthday parties or private events?
Absolutely! We host art-themed birthday parties, music jam sessions, and creative group events. Contact us for party packages, custom themes, and pricing.
Do students get to perform or showcase their work?
Yes! Our students regularly perform in recitals, art shows, and community showcases throughout the year. We believe sharing art builds confidence and pride.

What if I'm late to my lesson?
If you're late, most lessons will be shortened to the remaining time. However, please speak with your instructor—exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. We understand that life happens!
Can I get a refund if my child wants to quit with lessons remaining?
Payment generally covers 4 lessons and is paid one month in advance. While we can’t offer refunds, we encourage you to support your child in completing the remaining lessons. or contact us to apply the payment toward a class that better suits their interests.
